Me too...Been away for a while.
But it's always good when the opportunity arises, to hop in.
I don't buy much knifes these days, there's one in the holding and that's a Gerber Guardian backup. From now on I'll save a bit longer and try to get an original Recon Bowie.
The Recon particulary has gotten' to me. Like I said before, I'd go sofar to travel to Nam to try to find one on a local Market.
Man! The Magic of the Recon Bowie! Maybe I can get Discovery Channel to sponsor me!

Yep, GREAT knife - curved blade shape would probably help in withdrawing the blade after deep penetration since it has no grooves. $300? no way...All over eBay for around $180. but it IS a great knife - and not some froo-froo stuff - this thing is a weapon. If you love yours that much, find yourself a 20th Anniversary Edition, just about the same price!

Here's a link to a PDF document on SOG's web site. It's an old magazine article with great info about the original knives. Btw, the Recon Bowie is my favorite knife too... I have 2 of them!
